Legendary estate — with 60 rooms — heads to auction in California. Oh boy, is it cool

Sitting in the prestigious Holmby Hills in Los Angeles the residence known as the “Azria Estate” looms.

Covering a whopping 30,000 square feet, the property was originally listed at $87 million. The California home, nicknamed after fashion icon Max Azria, is now set to hit the auction block in May.

Bidding is expected to start at $38 million.

“As we prepare to part ways with our house, we reflect on our original purpose—to create an environment where we can be inspired. We wanted to fuse the concept that one’s home should be their utopia, a centerpiece for family and friends, the center for celebrations and entertaining, a place that (curates) creativity and imagination to flow,” Max’s wife, Lubov Azria, said in a news release.

Max, who founded the women’s fashion brand BCBG MAX AZRIA, died in 2019.

The megamansion sits on three acres and has different structures holding 14 bedrooms and 25 bathrooms, and more — all totaling 60 rooms.

Features include:

  • Hardwood floors

  • Music nook

  • Fireplaces

  • Library

  • Catering kitchen

  • Massive movie theater

  • Family room

  • Gym

  • “Guest-maid’s quarters”

  • Wine cellar

  • Infinity pool

  • Wellness spa

  • Greenhouse

  • Five gardens

  • Pond

  • Tea room

There’s even a poker room with a hidden door, the release says.

“The opulent abode has continued to serve as the epicenter of Hollywood glamour, home to unforgettable moments for the Azria family and, beyond its private sanctuary, a venue for hosting large-scale events, including Oscar parties that captured the excitement of Hollywood’s best night, high-profile product launches, and charity functions, embodying the intersection of luxury and entertainment,” the release details.

Bidding opens May 9 and ends May 23 via Concierge Auctions, in collaboration with Rayni Williams and Branden Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates.
