He's a Puerto Rican rapper
Guaynaa was an established Puerto Rican musician prior to his collaboration with Pons in September 2020. Born Jean Carlos Santiago Pérez, the rapper — who also doubles as a singer — turned heads in the music industry in 2019 with the release of "ReBoTa," which became his first song to hit the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in April that year.
Due to the success of the "Rebota" and its music video — which has amassed over 500 million views on YouTube, as of September 2023 — the song was remixed in 2019, featuring Becky G, Farruko, Nicky Jam and Sech. Later, it was certified 4x platinum.
In the years that followed, Guaynaa has continued to make music and release tracks. In April 2023, he and Pons released Capitulaciones, their first album together. Guaynaa has also been featured on albums from other chart-toppers, including artists like Becky G and Steve Aoki.

The playful, pop-urban track is about having a crush on someone and making it obvious. The song's corresponding music video — which featured a kiss shared between the couple — instantly sparked romance rumors because of their onscreen chemistry.
Dating speculation continued in the months that followed, especially as Pons and Guaynaa continued to post photos with each other on their respective social media accounts. Along with the video, which surpassed 20 million views within the month it was released, the couple appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon together to perform the hit.
