Lenny Kravitz not planning father-of-the-bride speech for daughter Zoe's wedding to Channing Tatum
Lenny Kravitz won't be preparing a speech for his daughter Zoe's wedding.
The 59-year-old singer will be walking the 'Big Little Lies' actress down the aisle when she ties the knot with Channing Tatum - who she got engaged to last autumn after two years of dating - but he has no plans to write down his father-of-the-bride remarks beforehand because he'd rather speak "from the heart" and be spontanous.
Asked about his speech, he told 'Entertainment Tonight': "It just comes at the moment. I don't rehearse those things. From the heart."
Lenny was at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday (14.01.24) because his track 'Road to Freedom', from the film 'Rustin', was nominated for Best Original Song, and though he lost out to 'I'm Just Ken' from 'Barbie', he admitted it has meant a lot for the track to be recognised at numerous ceremonies this season.
He said: "Because this is about Bayard Rustin it's it means a lot to me.
"It's an honour. It's just part of my heritage. This is what my mother comes from -- from the civil rights movement, so I'm just honored to be here and also be a part of the storytelling."
Last weekend, the 'Fly Away' singer got to reunite with his 'Hunger Games' co-star Jennifer Lawrence on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards and he was delighted to see her again.
He said: "We don't get to see each other that much and we had a wonderful experience together making that movie. We got very close and I got to catch up and hear about her family and how she's doing. I love Jen."
Lenny previously admitted he felt "blessed" after Zoe - who he has with ex-wife Lisa Bonet - and Channing got engaged.
Asked about their engagement, he told 'Entertainment Tonight': "Hey man, that's life. When your family is happy, when your child is happy, that's it - I've done well. Blessed."
