Here’s the list of MS Coast candidates running for state House and Senate seats
The deadline has passed for candidates to file qualifying papers to run in state elections for governor, senate, house and other offices and now the campaigns begin.
Wednesday at 5 p.m. was the deadline and the state executive committees had a 6 p.m. deadline to provide to the Secretary of State’s office their lists of candidates. The committees have until June 9 to officially qualify the candidates running to represent residents of Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties.
Primary Election Day is Aug. 8 and the General Election is Nov. 7, according to the Secretary of State’s election website.
Voters in part of Gulfport and Harrison County from Orange Grove north, will vote for a representative in the new District 33 House seat. The seat moved from North Mississippi to South Mississippi thanks to population growth on the Coast and redistricting.
