The 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships are over. See Penn State’s match-by-match results here

The 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships started Thursday in Kansas City, Mo., and by the end on Saturday night, Penn State had rewritten NCAA history.

Not only did the Nittany Lions win the team title in addition to four individual titles, but they also broke the all-time NCAA Championships scoring record with 172.5 points and set the record for largest margin of victory at 100. (Cornell was the runner-up with 72.5.)

Here’s a match-by-match look at how Penn State got there:

Saturday, session six (finals)

197: Aaron Brooks, Penn State, decision Trent Hidlay, N.C. State, 6-1, to give Brooks the fourth national title of his career. He’s the seventh wrestler in NCAA history to win four

174: Carter Starocci, Penn State, decision Rocco Welsh, Ohio State, 2-0, to give Starocci the fourth national title of his career. He’s the first Penn State wrestler, and sixth NCAA wrestler, to ever win four

165: David Carr, Iowa State, decision Mitchell Mesenbrink, Penn State, 9-8, to give Mesenbrink first and only loss of season

157: Levi Haines, Penn State, decision Jacori Teemer, Arizona State, 5-0, for first NCAA title

Friday, session four

Team race: Penn State clinched the team title in the middle of Carter Starocci’s match for its 12th title overall. It is the 11th under coach Cael Sanderson. The Nittany Lions finished with 148 points on the day.
