Local athletes excel at B.C. School track and field championships in Nanaimo

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Local track and field athletes got a chance to showcase their talents at the B.C. School Track and Field Championships which took place in Nanaimo on June 6th to 8th.

Hurdler Lexi Allin and high jumper Lu Taylor each had a strong showing at the event on Vancouver Island.

Having run the hurdling distance in competition once this season, Allin clocked at 16.36 seconds, placing her 19th in the province.

Taylor was in 22nd spot heading into the weekend, and had a strong showing on Saturday, finishing in 10th position with a height of 135 centimetres.
