Loki's Tom Hiddleston addresses future after season 2 finale

Loki season 2 might not spell the end of Tom Hiddleston's tenure as the God of Mischief.

Following the climax of his Disney+ solo series last week, the actor spoke to ComicBook about the likeliness of him turning up again in the Marvel multiverse.

"I have at least twice in my life said goodbye," he noted. "I've written to Kevin Feige and Louis de Esposito and Victoria Alonso and been like, 'Thank you so much. It's been like the role of a lifetime,' and they've written notes back saying, 'Come and see us anytime. You're always part of the family. We're always here. You've given us so much and tears have been shared.'

"So, I think I'd be unwise at this point to be conclusive about any of it."

A third season of TV isn't on the cards right now, though, so it could be a cinematic return for Hiddleston should his character be needed on screen again.

Loki head writer Eric Martin confirmed to CinemaBlend: "We approached this as like two halves of a book. Season one, first half. Season two, we close the book on Loki and the TVA.

"Where it goes beyond that, I don't know. I just wanted to tell a full and complete story across those two seasons."

Further along, Hiddleston reflected on the honour of playing the comic book trickster for the last 12 years.

"I will say this, as an actor, I never take for granted that anyone in your audience is going to be a guarantee that people are going to be interested in what I think what I'm doing. And I have been so honoured by the way that the audience has taken Loki into their imaginations for this length of time," he said.

"I know Loki means so much to so many for different reasons, and just carrying the torch for the time that I have has been an absolute honour and I'm so grateful to you. Thanks for coming. Thanks for coming on the journey."

Both seasons of Loki are streaming on Disney+.
