After a Champagne-colored rug sent shock waves through Hollywood last year, this year’s Oscars carpet was back to red.
But another color was the talk of Tinseltown on Sunday as pale blue and mint gowns ruled the carpet. Emma Stone, who has opted for stunning, form-fitting frocks with plenty of embellishment throughout awards season, stole the show in a mint sorbet Louis Vuitton shell-print column dress with a massive peplum.
Hailee Steinfeld in Ellie Saab Couture, Lupita Nyong’o in Armani Privè and Da'vine Joy Randolph in Louis Vuitton looked ethereal in the color of the night.

In addition to seafoam shades, other looks evoked the ocean. Anya Taylor-Joy’s scalloped Dior Haute Couture gown was inspired by Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus.”
Emily Blunt hasn’t missed this awards season with glamorous, edgy looks. Sunday’s shell-colored Schiaparelli gown was among several looks with necklines away from the body. Florence Pugh’s Del Core silver metallic dress had a similar aesthetic.
Black is always in style. Danielle Brooks wowed in Dolce & Gabbana. The Oscar nominee displayed the number 26 on her nails to represent being the 26th Black woman nominated for supporting actress. Eva Longoria was breathtaking in a Tamara Ralph strapless black velvet gown. Carey Mulligan was the epitome of Old Hollywood glamour in a Balenciaga Couture gown with matching opera gloves and white tulle train.
Margot Robbie ended her Barbiecore run with a black sequined Versace gown. Her “Barbie” co-star America Ferrera, meanwhile, ditched her usual black for a pink Versace chainmail dress. “Wicked” star Ariana Grande embraced the same color for her Glinda-inspired look by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture.
Colman Domingo, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu and Matt Bomer were among the men sporting nontraditional suits.

The deal Donald Trump brokered with Russia to release American school teacher Marc Fogel on Tuesday was, in fact, a prisoner swap—even though the president had tried to suggest otherwise. The Russian man freed in the deal is Alexander Vinnik, 45, who stands accused of laundering billions through the digital currency exchange website he ran, an unnamed U.S. official told The New York Times on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the Kremlin told reporters earlier on Wednesday that the U.S. had released

One social media user noted that Trump also took credit when the stock market was up under Biden, and asked, “How does anyone take this guy seriously?”
MSNBC host Joe Scarborough isn’t letting go of the theory that President Donald Trump’s Gaza comments are a “smokescreen” for something more sinister. The Morning Joe panel was discussing Trump doubling down on his potentially illegal plans for the embattled region when host Scarborough suggested something murky is going on behind closed doors. “Again, I think we were talking in the break about Gaza. So much of that I still think is a smoke screen for something else. I could be completely wrong.
First lady Melania Trump has not been seen or heard from since the end of last month, despite her husband flooding the zone. Melania was last seen by President Donald Trump’s side in North Carolina on Jan. 24, when she accompanied him on a tour of the Hurricane Helene disaster site. The same day, she watched as her husband partook in a very tense handshake with California Gov. Gavin Newsom after touching down in the state to survey the damage caused by the wildfires there. And this, or Newsom pl
Republican strategist Scott Jennings said during a CNN appearance that the Trump administration should ignore federal court rulings that don’t fall in line with the president’s policy objectives, prompting host Abby Phillip to shoot back that his argument was “not connected to the facts.” “If a district court judge tries to usurp the authority of the chief executive of this country, he should absolutely defy it,” Jennings told a panel on Monday‘s CNN NewsNight. “There’s a difference between broa

Elon Musk was the center of attention in the Oval Office on Tuesday as he and Donald Trump offered a bizarre and rambling defense of their efforts to dismantle large chunks of the federal government through the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The world’s richest man, who donned his “dark MAGA” cap for the occasion, towered over a seated Trump as he fielded questions from reporters. Musk appeared at ease, his young son perched on his shoulders, as he argued that he and his t
