He’d come from Canada to Biloxi hoping to hit it big and went home with quite a souvenir of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Allen S. — no last name provided — was playing a progressive table game at around 2 a.m. earlier this month when he hit a big jackpot.

He went home with $538,535 in winnings, but didn’t say how he will spend the money.

“The excitement and disbelief of the win were palpable, with onlookers cheering and high-fiving an elated Alan, who was in shock at his unexpected fortune,” said Nicholas Breaux-Fujita, vice president of marketing at the casino.

A Mobile, Alabama woman won the biggest table game jackpot ever at Harrah’s Gulf Coast on New Year’s Day, Keyla D. (no last name given) won a $842,622.75 progressive jackpot. The win came after she bet just $5 on the Ultimate Texas Hold‘em table at the casino..

Harrah’s Gulf Coast is part of the Caesars Entertainment network, he said, which connects it with four sister properties in Mississippi. That’s the reason the jackpot grows larger with every bet placed and produces this large payouts, he said.
