Moncton man charged with attempted murder in hit-and-run remanded

Moncton woman pleads guilty to Dieppe bank robbery

Clarke Edward Hannah, 45, of Moncton, has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a hit-and-run that occurred in the city over the weekend.

Codiac Regional RCMP say 31-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was "run over" by a vehicle in a parking lot at the corner of Killam Drive and Moore Street on Sunday at about 6:30 p.m.

He remains in hospital.

Hannah, who is accused of attempting to murder the man by striking him with a vehicle, was arrested in Edmundston on Monday at about 3 p.m., after a warrant was issued.

He made a brief appearance in Moncton provincial court on Tuesday afternoon, but did not enter a plea.

Crown prosecutor Jessica Lavoie objected to his release.

Hannah remains remanded in custody, pending a bail hearing on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

Judge Jolene Richard ordered him not to have any contact with the victim.

Codiac RCMP are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 506-857-2400, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
