A 26-year-old Lower Sackville, N.S., man has been charged twice in six weeks with driving while impaired by drugs, first after police say he backed into a pole and a second time when he was spotted by officers yelling at a group of women.

The man was first charged on June 8, according to a news release from police. RCMP were called to the scene of a crash in Lower Sackville where a driver had hit a parked vehicle and then backed into a light pole.

The driver was charged with impaired driving after being evaluated by a police drug-recognition expert. Police have not said what drug he's accused of using.

On Sunday, the man was spotted again by police after a passing car honked its horn and turned into a no parking zone on the corner of Argyle and Blowers streets in downtown Halifax.

The man then opened his door, yelled at a group of women and invited them into his car, according to Halifax Regional Police. He was again charged with drug-impaired driving.

The man remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Halifax provincial court on Thursday morning, police said.
