Man found dead under I-5 overpass in Olympia has been identified

A 58-year-old man found dead under an overpass Friday morning in Olympia has been identified, according to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office.

John R. Davis was found dead just before 8 a.m. under the Boulevard Road overpass on I-5 near Wheeler Avenue. Coroner Gary Warnock said Davis’ cause of death was still pending as of Wednesday because he’s waiting for a toxicology report.

After a Tuesday examination, Warnock said his office determined Davis’ was uninjured. Warnock added Davis showed no signs of trauma that would suggest he suffered an assault or had been hit by a car.
