Suspect charged with murder after man shot near Wendell dies from injuries

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man with murder in the Friday shooting death of a 47-year-old man near Wendell.

Deputies responded at 9:36 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 7300 block of Campsite Drive, near the eastern Wake County town.

They found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died, according to the sheriff’s office.

On Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office identified him as 47-year-old Javon Sherice Ellison.

On Sunday, 30-year-old Christopher Lamont Galbreath was arrested and charged with murder in Ellison’s death.
