Man stabbed in entertainment district
Police are searching for the assailant after a stabbing in the entertainment district sent a man to hospital — just one of several stabbings seen across the city overnight.
Police were called to the area of Adelaide Street West and Simcoe Street at around midnight by reports of a stabbing at a nearby establishment. The victim was rushed to hospital with multiple, serious stab wounds, Toronto police said via Twitter.
Investigators are looking for the assailant, described as a black man, about six feet tall, wearing a black jacket and diamond studs.
East-end stabbings
The city saw a number of other stabbings across the east end overnight.
Police say two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing near Wingarden Court and Crow Trail — a suspect has been arrested in that case — while a man in his 20s suffered what are believed to be stab wounds at about 1 a.m. near Thorncliffe Park Drive and Overlea Boulevard, according to investigators.
Police at 53 Division say the details of the latter case are still unclear.
A third incident near Kennedy and Ellesmere roads at about 2 a.m. also sent a man in his 20s to hospital. Police say that victim is not co-operating with the investigation.
