Who knew s’mores could be so polarizing.

On Monday, Martha Stewart shared a video showing the “very best s’mores” on her Instagram Story, that she then uploaded as a separate Reels post. However, followers were torn over the gourmand’s preparation of the campfire treat.

Stewart's video focused on a large marshmallow cube that has golden brown and deeply-charred areas across its surface. It was then sandwiched between two graham crackers, as voices in the background try to assess who needs a stick to roast more marshmallows.

“Very best s’mores ever,” Stewart captioned the video. She added that this rendition of the sweet was made with “homemade marshmallow of course.”

While the lifestyle expert was proud of her s’mores, some of her followers were not so jazzed about the creation.

“Where is the chocolate?” one follower asked in the comments. Another told Stewart, “You’re doing it wrong. Too burnt. No chocolate and you’re using graham crackers. Stroopwafels are the only way to go.”

"That looks awfully burnt Martha. Am I the only person in the United States that does not like s’mores? I don’t like graham crackers, and I don’t like marshmallows," added another.

Stewart responded in the comments, “You are such a downer!!!”

While many had their own opinions on how a s’more should be made (or if it should even be enjoyed), others were delighted by Stewart’s creation.

“Yummy, no chocolate necessary. ❤️” one user wrote about Stewart’s omission. Another follower said that they thought it was “Not burnt! Caramelized to perfection!”

Others were in awe of her homemade marshmallows. “Home made marshmallow? Did I read that right?!” one user chimed in, while another said, “Perfect! Toasts totally different than the store bought huh? Delish 🥰” A few even asked Stewart for a marshmallow recipe.

In August, Stewart came under fire for posting about a unique ingredient used in cocktails she enjoyed while on a Swan Hellenic cruise traveling from Iceland to Greenland.

Stewart revealed that "we actually captured a small iceberg for our cocktails tonight,” in an Instagram post.

In a collection of several photos, Stewart shared images of an expedition guests took to check out glaciers. Some shots show the icebergs in their natural state and others show chunks of ice on a bar cart, ready to be made into cocktails. Stewart also posed for a picture enjoying her beverage.

Soon after posting, fans were quick to comment on the unusual ingredient. One follower said "drinking their iceberg cocktails while the planet is in flames is a bit tone deaf." Another said, “Martha the ice caps are melting don’t put them in your drink.”
