  • Meghan Markle and Prince Charles have a really loving relationship.

  • Excerpts from Finding Freedom say Meghan sees Charles as a second father.

It’s really no secret that Meghan Markle’s relationship with her dad, Thomas Markle, is complicated. I mean, did you see when he claimed Meghan was “whining” in the middle of the pandemic? Or when he accused Meghan of ghosting him on British television? Or that other time when he dragged Meghan for moving to Los Angeles with Prince Harry? Yeah…not so great. But the good news is that Meghan’s relationship with her father-in-law, Prince Charles, is pretty darn sweet by comparison.

In Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s Finding Freedom, they explore Charles and Meghan’s close bond. According to a friend of Meghan’s, she “found such a supportive and loving father in Charles, which has really changed her life for the better.” The source also added that Meghan doesn’t think of Charles as a father-in-law—she sees him more as a “second father.” Who was it who said you have to hate your in-laws, again? 🤔

Charles pretty much feels the same way about Meghan, FWIW. A source close to Charles says he’s “taken a real shine to Meghan. She’s a sassy, confident, beautiful American. He likes very strong, confident women. She’s bright and she’s self-aware, and I can see why they’ve struck up a very quick friendship.”

Now, if only things could be that sweet and uncomplicated with Meghan’s actual dad…and also Prince William and Kate Middleton, who Meghan and Harry may or may not still be feuding with. TBD, as always.
