A Meridian man was arrested after 2 victims were injured in hit-and-run, police say

A Meridian man was arrested on a felony accusation of driving under the influence and for leaving the scene of the accident, Meridian police said Monday. Two victims had life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital, police said.

According to a police news release:

Michael Green, 26, was driving a Ford F-150 eastbound on Fairview Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Saturday when he hit a motorcyclist on a black Hondaat the intersection of East Fairview Avenue and Venture Street.

Green made a sudden, unsignaled lane change as the motorcyclist was changing lanes behind the truck, causing a collision. The victim was ejected from the motorcycle into the westbound lanes of Fairview.

Green did not stop and kept on driving “at a high rate of speed.”

A driver passing by stopped and helped the injured motorcyclist. They got hit by another vehicle in the westbound lanes of Fairview.

Green was then found by Garden City police officers and stopped at West Summerwind Drive and West Shadybrook in Boise.
