Met Police officer charged with off-duty sexual assault

A Metropolitan Police detective is set to appear in court over sexual assault charges.

DC Jose Poonsawat, from the Central South Command Unit, will appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 12.

The charge stems from an alleged off-duty incident on 16 December 2022.

The officer is currently on restricted duties.

The Central South Command Unit is a division of the Met that covers Lambeth and Southwark.
