Meta fined €1.2 billion for violating EU data rules
Facebook's parent company Meta has been fined a record €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) on Monday for transferring EU user data to the United States in breach of a previous court ruling. "This is the largest fine ever levied on the basis of the EU’s general data protection regulation (GDPR)”, says FRANCE 24’s correspondant Dave Keating as he reports from Brussels.
