Mike Tyson had a medical problem aboard a flight from Miami. Here’s what we know

Mike Tyson is reportedly OK after suffering a health scare aboard a flight from Miami to Los Angeles Sunday evening.

The boxing champ’s rep told the New York Post he’s “doing great,” despite feeling “nauseous and dizzy” after an “ulcer flare-up” about a half hour before landing.

Fellow passengers on American Airlines Flight 1815 relayed some of the circumstances leading up to the incident to In Touch Weekly.

The trip was reportedly delayed two hours due to an air-conditioning issue. According to plane tracking site Flight Aware, 1815 experienced a two hour and one minute delay.

Tyson, 57, had reportedly spent the time waiting in AA’s Admirals Lounge for frequent fliers and then was escorted to the gate when it was time to board.

People first noted something was amiss while descending recalling that messages came to their personal devices and over the speaker inquiring if any medical professionals were aboard.

“He was in first class, but we were in an exit row and the stewardess was very chatty,” a passenger explained. “They asked us to stay on the plane after landing so paramedics could enter. She mentioned that ‘He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK.’ When I mouthed ‘Mike Tyson,’ she nodded.”

American Airlines confirmed to the Miami Herald that the aircraft “was met by first responders upon arrival due to the medical needs of a customer.”

The heavyweight’s spokesperson confirmed to the Post that his client was “appreciative” of the workers who helped him.

While it’s unclear what type of care Tyson received, on the plane or off, at least one individual is not sympathetic. That would be Jake Paul, who is set to square off with Iron Mike July 20 in Dallas.

In a post to X, the 27-year-old YouTube star intimated he didn’t believe Tyson was actually ill: “You love to make s--- up before knowing the facts for clicks/likes, nothing changed #paultyson.”

On Tuesday, Tyson seemingly responded, posting that he was “feeling 100 percent, even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.”

Regardless of what happened to him, Tyson doesn’t have the greatest luck on planes.

Back in April 2022, the boxer punched an “overly excited fan” aboard a JetBlue flight before it set off from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale.

The San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office in California soon closed the case due to “the circumstances surrounding the confrontation,” including “the conduct of the victim leading up to the incident, the interaction between Mr. Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the victim and Mr. Tyson that no charges be filed.”
