Miley Cyrus Is Back to Her Miley Stewart Hair in 2024

As the old saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Were those wise proverb-makers talking about Miley Cyrus's hair? The star has gone through a major hair evolution since her earliest days in the spotlight, from the long, blonde Hannah Montana wig to her Bangerz-era crop to a blonde-and-black ‘80s-inspired shag to the ultra-, ultra-voluminous bouffant she wore at the Grammy Awards, but things have recently come full circle for Cyrus and her hair. In the immortal words of Hilary Duff, “Let’s go back … back to the beginning.”

Miley Cyrus had slowly but surely been making her way back to her natural brunette hair color, but new pics of the Grammy-winning musician reveal that she's gone alllll the way back to her Hannah Montana brunette once more and looks more like her onscreen character Miley Stewart than the Cyrus we've known and loved for more than a decade.

Cyrus's hair, which is now a slightly lighter shade than the previous deeper chocolate brown, currently falls down past her ribs in loose, subtly highlighted waves. Oh, and she has bangs now too! (You can see the pics here.)

If seeing these pics sent you right back to the Disney Channel days, you're not alone; it's as if Cyrus walked right off the set of the TV show that propelled her to fame. "I thought this was an old pic when I first saw it…" wrote a fan on Twitter/X. “Looking like she just finished showing Jake Ryan her true identity,” wrote another. “Looks like she can’t be tamed,” tweeted another fan, referencing Cyrus's 2010 single and music video. Welcome back, Miley Stewart!
