Missing Winnipeg woman, 20, back home safe

A 20-year-old Winnipeg woman who went missing a week ago has been found safe and sound, days after her mother raised concerns about her daughter's well-being.

Jessica Jones last had contact with her family on Oct. 27.

Her car was then found crashed near McPhillips Street and the Perimeter Highway early the next morning, according to her mother, Jennifer Jackson-Jones.

Jackson-Jones went public last week, asking anyone with information about her daughter's whereabouts to come forward.

At the time, she said her daughter suffers from depression and alcohol addiction.

The mother said she was told that Jones vanished after being picked up, intoxicated, in the city's St. James area and taken to a party in a West Broadway neighbourhood.

But Jackson-Jones confirmed to CBC News on Sunday that Jones arrived home early Saturday morning.

Details surrounding Jones's disappearance were not released, but Jackson-Jones thanked the public for their support.
