Moose Jaw police say drunk driver caught near Holiday Train
Moose Jaw police say they were directing traffic for the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Monday night when a drunk driver came by.
It seems the driver wasn't hard to spot: the car was allegedly speeding west in the eastbound lane of Manitoba Street West.
It happened downtown close to the train station, just after 8 p.m. CST, as the family-oriented event was getting underway.
Police pulled the driver over and gave him a roadside breath test. He failed and has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood-alcohol level over .08 per cent.
The 44-year-old Moose Jaw resident is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 19.
His licence has been suspended and his car was impounded.
