Motorcycle crash kills woman south of Calgary

An 18-year-old woman is dead and a man seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in southwestern Alberta Tuesday morning.

The accident happened on Highway 22 about six kilometres south of Highway 540 at around 11 a.m.

The woman, believed to be the passenger, died at the scene, RCMP said.

A 60-year-old man was airlifted by STARS air ambulance to Foothills hospital in serious condition.

No other vehicles were involved.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
