Mum bakes daughter ‘sorry we thought you did meth’ cake after drugs test blunder

A red-faced mum was so mortified about believing her daughter was a drug addict that she baked her a very special cake to apologise.

Rachel Gelmis was in serious trouble when her school told her mum that her daughter had tested positive for weed, cocaine, meth, heroin and various other sedatives.

However, the student, from Alabama, was adamant that the school had got it wrong and pleaded with her mum to believe her.

Her mum didn’t listen and Rachel remained in serious trouble over the drugs.

But a few hours later, the school phoned up her mum again, this time to tell her that they had misread the results - and Rachel was in fact completely clean.

Vindicated: Rachel wrote how the cake was enough for her to forgive her mum for not believing her (Facebook)

She wrote on Facebook: “This was the first time I had ever been drug tested, and I knew I was clean, of course…

“My mother, on the other hand, believed it.”

Rachel’s mum could do only one thing to say sorry - bake a cake with a unique message scrawled on it.

It read: “Sorry we thought you did meth… & coke & pot & heroine.”

The message was signed off with a little sad face.

Rachel added that she had forgiven her mum - who won’t be on GBBO any time soon with her orange and blue showstopper.
