Nadine Coyle has called on ITV to stop showing the infamous shower scenes on I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

The reality competition has become known for scenes featuring women in bikinis showering under the local waterfall, but the Girls Aloud star has now suggested that it needs to become a thing of the past.

“You can forget yourself and you’re doing your thing because it’s such a natural thing to be in the shower, then you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s right – the cameras! We’re on TV!’

“It’s a really odd experience, the shower thing,” she said.

Coyle appeared on the show in the 2019 addition, and along with Kate Garraway and Caitlyn Jenner, would hold up towels to stop the cameras from catching sight of anyone showering.

Speaking to The Sun the singer added: “There’s something really odd in itself about showering in a rock with drops of water coming down!

“But what’s really weird is when cameras move around when they see you in the shower. You’re like, ‘Come off it, leave us alone, please’.”

Coyle was in the girl band with Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl Cole, for 11 years, but since their split in 2013 there have often been rumours that best mates Walsh, Cole and Roberts did not get on with Coyle and Harding.

It is thought the girls have not spoken in many years, but speaking during Coyle’s stint on the show, Walsh said that she had been shocked by how much she cared about whether her former pal getting on well as a campmate in the ITV jungle-based show.

Admitting that there was some truth to not all of Girls Aloud being best mates, she added: “It’s true, there’s a genuine real connection between us three which just happened to be, whereas with Sarah and Nadine it was more of a work relationship.

“But it’s almost like family, there are people in your family you don’t see all the time but if you had to watch them on TV going through something like that, you would feel for them.

“It actually surprised me how much I really do care, it’s nice.”
