In Nate Burleson’s defense, the kids told him to do it.

The former wide receiver, who played with the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions, may have taken his basketball antics up a few too many notches during a recent father/daughter basketball game.

Though we don’t get his commentary on the situation — other than an “in my defense” — his wife, Atoya, provides a glorious reaction behind the camera.

School-aged backboards are not built for dunks by 6-foot, 198-pound (in his playing days) men.

Burleson whips around and seems shocked at what he finds. It’s the reaction by his wife Atoya that shines here: “Oh my gosh. Not again.”

Again? You didn’t learn the first time this wasn’t the best plan of action?

While the 37-year-old Burleson made his name on the NFL field for 11 years his older brother, Kevin, played in the NBA for the Charlotte Bobcats.

The school may want to be careful when Burleson is around. Remember: the kids made him do it!
