NEW YORK. x–29s. Prosecutors in Donald Trump’s hush money trial told Judge Juan M. Merchan they wanted the former president held in contempt and sanctioned for seven more social media posts they say violate a gag order. A-B-C’s Katherine Faulders reports Trump’s new posts came after the prosecutors initially sought a three-thousand-dollar fine on Monday for three other Truth Social posts.

NAT069 – (Labour-Politics)
OTTAWA. x–15s. The head of Canada’s largest labour organization is calling on union leaders to do everything they can to expose Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre (PWAH’-lee-ehv) as a fraud. Canadian Labour Congress President Bea Bruske (BRUH’-sk) delivered her call to union leaders gathered in Ottawa to plot strategy ahead of the next federal vote, which must happen before October of next year.
(“..nope, never.”) (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)

TAG: Bruske says Poilievre’s track record as an M-P makes him hostile to labour, pointing out that over his 20-year career he repeatedly voted in favour of back-to-work legislation.

NAT070 – (Ont-Legis-Keffiyeh) (EXTENDED)
TORONTO. x–22s. An N-D-P motion to allow keffiyehs (keh-FEE’-yehz) to be worn in the Ontario legislature has failed as it did not receive unanimous consent. Premier Doug Ford and the opposition leaders have all called for Speaker Ted Arnott to reverse his decision to not allow the scarf in the legislature. N-D-P Leader Marit Stiles put forward a motion for unanimous consent to allow it in the house, but on a voice vote at least one person from the Progressive Conservative government’s side said no.
(“..no, agreed.”) (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)

TAG: Arnott says says the keffiyeh meets the definition of items attempting to make an overtly political statement.

NAT071 – (Labour-Politics )
OTTAWA. x–14s. The president of the Canadian Labour Congress is calling on union leaders to unite in pointing out Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s (PWAH’-lee-ehvz) record as supporting “anti-worker” measures. Bea Bruske (BRUH’-sk) delivered a speech to labour leaders gathered in Ottawa, saying that while the Conservative leader pitches himself as a friend to the working class, as an M-P he voted for back-to-work legislation and said employees should be allowed to opt-out of unions.
(“..for himself.”) (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)

TAG: Bruske says Poilievre wasn’t invited to speak at the event because of his record, while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and federal N-D-P Leader Jagmeet Singh will address the gathering later today.
