NDP makes gains in Tri-Cities, Burnaby with upsets

The NDP made gains in the Tri-Cities and Burnaby by picking up two seats that belonged to the B.C. Liberals, while losing one.

The orange wins made for a clean-sweep of Burnaby's four ridings.

For the NDP's Janet Routledge, the second time's a charm.

In 2013, the retired director of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, lost to four-term Liberal MLA Richard T. Lee by 688 votes.

While the NDP's Jodie Wickens won a byelection in the riding after two-term B.C. Liberal MLA Doug Horne stepped down, she couldn't pull out a victory in this election over his replacement Joan Issacs.

Issacs won by less than 200 votes.

Coquitlam-Maillardville

The NDP's Selina Robinson was re-elected in Coquitlam-Maillairdville by nearly 2,500 votes over Liberal Steve Kim.
