Chrishell and Jason romance takes over Selling Sunset Season 5, while Christine's job is in jeopardy

Netflix hit reality show Selling Sunset is back with Season 5, throwing us right into the romance between Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim.

The season starts with Jason and Chrishell on a couples' vacation to Greece with Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet, and Brett Oppenheim and his girlfriend Tina, seemingly very much in love. Much of the first few episodes are really centred around Jason and Chrishell finally going public with their relationship.

“I hope that Jason will not f–k this up,” fan favourite Maya Vander says about the romantic relationship in The Oppenheim Group.

“Working and dating in the same environment can always be risky … We all know relationships are not perfect.”

Amanza Smith is definitely a bit more on board for the relationship saying to the couple, “please just have a baby.”

Even Jason's mother says she wouldn't be surprised if they got married, probing about where they both stand on having babies together, with Jason saying he's considering it more seriously than he ever has, but ultimately it comes a point on contention for the couple.

Reflecting on their break up, which we see at the very end of the season, Jason told Us Weekly that he’s still “working through” his split from Chrishell.

“I think that I made the right decision for myself, but also I think it’s just extremely difficult,” he told Us Weekly on Wednesday. “I love her still. I always will. She’s a great woman so there’s just a lot of loss there.”

'Thank God we don’t have HR'

If you can move past Jason and Chrishell, which admittedly is difficult to do throughout most of the season, we also see the highly anticipated return of Christine Quinn to the Oppenheim Group office. As fans may expect, it isn’t the smoothest transition. Pair that with an interoffice relationship and it’s a bit of a recipe for disaster.

“Thank God we don’t have HR, could you imagine,” Christine tells Maya on the show, talking about Jason and Chrishell's relationship.

Christine gets into some particularly hot water when she questions why she wasn’t getting many listings, particularly after Chrishell was asked to co-list a $10 million property with Brett, saying that the difference is that Christine is not “f–king her boss.”

Also, if you thought this season would be the end Christine's feud with Emma Hernan, you were definitely mistaken.

Things are amplified when Jason decides to make Mary a managing partner in the office, as he and his brother are getting bogged down with other work, giving Mary the opportunity to confront Christine about what she’s saying about her co-workers.

Near the ned of the season, Emma drops a bomb on the new managing partner, claiming that Christine offered one of Emma's clients $5,000 to not work with her, which causes one last eruption before Season 5 comes to an end and puts Christine's job on the line.

Christine does move the story forward for Season 5 as our introduction to Chelsea Lazkani, originally from London, looks to sign on to the Oppenheim Group.

Jason actually almost sold Chelsea’s husband, Jeff, Kanye West’s house, until Jeff’s mother said the home “looks like a lonely narcissist lives here.”

Chelsea is very much Christine’s corner, as her friend, but even without Christine, she gets right into the office drama — particularly when a feud starts between Chelsea and Davina Potratz (who still hasn't sold the $75 million house), after Chelsea calls her out for not being supportive of Christine.

We have to say, this season is prime for the first-ever Selling Sunset reunion episode, which will air in May.
