Nielsen Streaming Top 10: ‘Fool Me Once’ Debuts at No. 1, While Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s Prison Release Pushes 2019’s ‘The Act’ Back on Originals Chart

Harlan Coben’s “Fool Me Once” delivered quite the opening week as it managed to record 3.04 billion viewing minutes during the Jan. 1-7 viewing window and cracking Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart at No. 1. For context, that’s an impressive feat considering that’s more minutes viewed than the No. 2 and No. 3 titles combined.

Amazon’s “Reacher” marked its fourth week among the top 10 titles following the release of Season 2 with another recorded 1.38 billion minutes viewed. That now marks the show’s fourth consecutive week recording over 1 billion minutes viewed. Nielsen also adjusted its previous rankings for “Reacher” after addressing an audio asset capture interruption affected the reporting intervals of Dec. 18-24 and Dec. 25-31. With the revised data taken into consideration, the title moved to No. 1 overall with 1. 451 million viewing minutes for the Dec. 18-24 viewing window and landed at No. 1 with 1.443 million minutes viewed during the Dec. 25-31 interval.

“Young Sheldon” followed closely behind in third place on the overall Top 10 chart with 1.37 billion minutes viewed, which accounts for streaming on both Netflix and Max. Also crossing the billion minute threshold during this interval is “Bluey” (1.25 billion), “Grey’s Anatomy” (1.07 billion), and “The Equalizer 3” (1.02 billion).

On the Originals chart, it’s worth noting that Hulu’s “The Act” jumped back on the list at No. 10 following Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s early release from prison on Dec. 28. The series, starring Joey King and Patricia Arquette, tells Blanchard’s story detailing her attempts to “escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother. Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, one that ultimately leads to murder,” according to the official description. During the viewing window, the series accrued 3127 million minutes viewed.

Despite another episode of “Percy Jackson & the Olympians” being added to Disney+ during this interval, the series was down 10% from the previous week, recording 627 million minutes and scored the No. 6 spot. That’s still a solid performance for a new original with just four total episodes. Also, Netflix’s Dave Chappelle standup, “The Dreamer,” made the originals chart at No. 9 following its Dec. 31 release date and recorded 376 million minutes viewed.

Back on the overall chart, “Aquaman” made the list at No. 9 after being added to Netflix and earned 955 million minutes viewed when counting dual streams on Max and Netflix. It’s also worth noting that “The Big Bang Theory” made the chart during this interval after “Young Sheldon” spent several weeks at No. 1 on Nielsen’s overall streaming chart. The show landed in 10th place with 757 million minutes viewed.

Elsewhere on the chart is “NCIS” (928 million minutes) and “Suits” (766 million minutes).
