Nielsen Streaming Top 10: ‘Suits’ Becomes First Show Ever to Cross 3 Billion Minutes Watched for Seven Weeks in a Row

“Suits” has been watched for 26.5 billion minutes total across Netflix and Peacock for the last eight weeks, with the Aug. 7-13 viewing window marking its seventh week in a row crossing the 3 billion minte-mark. Though “Stranger Things” still holds the record for highest viewing total in eight weeks — 35.5 billion minutes, set in 2022 with the two-part launch of its fourth season — “Suits” is the first title ever to stay above 3 billion minutes for this long.

The USA drama, which concluded in 2019 and shot back to popularity after being added to Netflix earlier this summer, dropped from 3.3 billion minutes last week to just 3 billion this week, but was still the clear first-place winner on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings. Second place went to “The Lincoln Lawyer” with 1.4 billion minutes watched in the first full week of availability of Season 2 Part 2 — less than half the viewership of “Suits.” It’s likely that “Suits” will fall below 3 billion on next week’s chart, though it may take longer for the series’ No. 1 reign to end.

“Bluey” took third place with 1.1 billion minutes watched, adding on to an already-successful summer for the animated children’s series. “Bluey” makes the chart most weeks, though it typically floats at the bottom near “Cocomelon” (another preschool series, which this week made No. 10 with 654 million minutes watched). It first crossed 1 billion during the July 10-16 window, when it was the second most-watched title after “Suits,” and has remained in the Top 4 since then.

Netflix’s “Painkiller” debuted at No. 4 with 990 million minutes watched in the limited series’ first four days of availability. It was followed by another Netflix debut, “Heart of Stone.” The film was watched for 966 million minutes in its first three days of availability.

Along with “Bluey” and “Cocomelon,” the other chart regulars this week were “Grey’s Anatomy” at No. 6 with 849 million minutes watched and “NCIS” at No. 8 with 771 million minutes watched.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” dropped to seventh place in its first full week of availability on Disney+. The film, which premiered theatrically in May before its streaming debut, was watched for 811 million minutes from Aug. 7-13, compared to 1.6 billion minutes the week before.

At No. 9 was the “Only Murders in the Building,” which was watched for 719 million minutes in the first six days of availability of the first two episodes of Season 3.
