Nominations welcomed for agriculture industry

Farmers and those who work in the food industry have until the end of next month to be nominated for this year’s version of the province’s annual Agriculture Excellence Awards. The awards, which were created in 2019, feature a dozen categories, including youth excellence, workforce excellence, family farm excellence and urban agriculture excellence. Winners in each category are honoured for “setting a high standard and example to ensure Ontario’s agriculture and food industry can continue to grow and prosper,” Agriculture Minister Rob Flack, a London-area MPP and former food-industry executive, said in a news release. Nomination forms must be submitted by July 22. Forms can be found online at ontario.ca. They can be submitted by email to excellenceinagriculture@ontario.ca.
