‘Not the decision I wanted to make’: Charlotte bakery closes one location to save another
Local bakery Wentworth & Fenn is closing its Latta Arcade location so owners can devote resources into supporting its remaining Camp North End spot.
“It’s not the decision I wanted to make. But, unfortunately...this is the reality of the situation,” according to a post on the company’s Facebook page written by executive pastry chef Samantha Ward.
“Sales are down,” Ward wrote. “Overhead is up. And we won’t make it as a bakery if we don’t make some changes. We will still be open at our Camp North End location per usual.”
The Latta Arcade location is closed immediately, Ward said.
“It’s so important to support a small business. Please, support those who support you,” she wrote.
