This new Ocean Springs boutique hotel is already taking reservations for its 2024 opening
Right in the middle of downtown Ocean Springs, where festivals spill onto the streets and dozens of restaurants, shops and bars are in easy walking distance, a new hotel will open by early next year.
“Our reservations are online now and ready to be taken starting Jan. 12,” said Michael Davis, director of sales and marketing for The Springs Hotel, at the new boutique hotel next to Walter Anderson Museum of Art at 424 Washington Ave.
Joe and Jessica Cloyd are the developers of the project.
Springs Hotel is part of the Rain Travel Collection of boutique hotels in and near Ocean Springs. It joins Roost Boutique Hotel, The Inn at Ocean Springs, The Beatnik Motel, The Hemingway and Gulf Hills Hotel + Resort and is managed by Roxy and Ted Condrey.
The hotel gets its name and theme from the healing springs that gave Ocean Springs its name.
A building that housed the law offices of long-time attorney Earl Denham is being transformed, with high ceilings and other architectural details, into 15 spacious guest rooms over two floors.
“They’re all suites or oversize rooms with beautiful decor that the owners have picked out themselves,” Davis said.
Each room is titled with the names of herbs and plants, like the Mistletoe, Hydrangea and Honeysuckle, and decor to match.
Rates will start at $250 per night, given its location in the downtown and less than a quarter mile from Front Beach and the luxurious design, furnishings and artwork.
Similar to the Inn at Ocean Springs and The Hemingway boutique hotels, The Springs won’t have a restaurant when so many good restaurants are waiting to be discovered in the downtown, Davis said.
“We will have a full-time retail shop there,” he said. Palmette will be owned by Jerrod and Jessie Partridge and feature original fine art and a floral shop.
The Springs Hotel will have private parking for both vehicles and golf carts that can be rented nearby so guests can park and get around the downtown like locals.
