From Road & Track

Ohio dealership Lebanon Ford first came to our attention in 2016 by offering a 727-hp supercharged Mustang for $40,000 out the door, a bargain if there ever was one. Now, the dealer has refined its formula for the 2018 Mustang, upping the horsepower to 800, but keeping the price at $40,000. That's a lot of power for your dollar!

The package combines a totally base, manual-transmission 2018 Mustang GT - which Lebanon Ford sells at the steeply discounted price of $31,785 - and a new supercharger kit from Whipple. Normally, this supercharger kit would cost $9000 installed, but Lebanon Ford is offering it at an introductory price of $8210.

This supercharger is a new 3.0-liter unit from Whipple with a custom tune. Lebanon Ford offers the kit on manual or automatic Mustangs, though with this much power, the stick-shift can be a handful - the 10-speed automatic is a $1595 option. Lebanon Ford also recommends updating the Mustang's half-shafts and oil-pump gears alongside this supercharger kit, a $3000 upgrade.

So, while it is possible to get an honest 800-hp Mustang for $40,000, you'll likely want to spend a bit more than that to get the power to the ground reliably. Still, that's a screaming bargain for a Mustang with power to rival a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.

Lebanon Ford is taking orders for these cars now, with builds expected to begin some time mid-March. The supercharger kit voids the factory Ford powertrain warranty, but the dealer offers a $995 warranty option to make up for it. All other non-drivetrain factory warranty coverage is maintained.

Lebanon Ford keeps refining its original recipe: Competitively-priced Mustangs slapped with affordable aftermarket power-adders and sold out the door for what you might pay for a bone-stock pony car. This power at this price is just damn impressive.
