Operator thrust from motorcycle on Fort Worth highway struck by at least one vehicle

A motorcyclist died late Tuesday when he or she lost control and was thrust from the motorcycle in Fort Worth before being struck by at least one passing vehicle, police said.

The operator died about 10 p.m. at the intersection of the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 287 and Cobb Park Drive, Fort Worth police said.

A witness told an officer the motorcyclist had been traveling on Highway 287 at a high rate of speed while approaching the intersection.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the operator’s name or age.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the motorcyclist did not stop at the scene and was not in custody Tuesday night, police said.
