Former LOTR costars Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd reunited over drinks in a photo posted on social media on Friday, May 3, ahead of appearing together at Liverpool Comic Con in the U.K. at the weekend.
The foursome was seen in the snap, which was posted on Monaghan’s Instagram, smiling as they each raised shot glasses in cheers while sitting around a table filled with empty glasses at a dining establishment.
“3 hobbits and an elf and the CONVERSATION tonight was VAULTED,” Monaghan, 47, wrote in the caption, referring to the actors’ characters in the iconic fantasy film series.
In the movies, Bloom, 47, played the elf Legolas, while Wood, 43, played hobbit Frodo Baggins, Monaghan, 47, played hobbit Merry Brandybuck and Boyd, 55, played hobbit Pippin Took.

Monaghan had shared a throwback photo of the group the day before as fresh-faced young actors in the early days of filming LOTR together, teasing their appearance at Liverpool Comic Con to fans.
The actors sported funny expressions as they posed together in what appeared to be an airport. Monaghan, who stood to the left, gave a pout while Boyd and Wood who stood in the center, flashed huge smiles at the camera. Bloom crouched down at the front, also with a big open grin.
“This weekend we form like voltron at #liverpoolcomiccon,” Monaghan declared in the caption.
“Best photo ❤️,” Bloom wrote in response in the comment section.

The former costars reunion comes after the group previously reunited back in May 2022.
In a photo shared on Monaghan’s Instagram at the time, the actors were snapped taking a group selfie as they dined out together at a restaurant.
"It was another one of those successful smash it out of the park kick it into row Z slap my arse and call me Lucy any of it was recorded none of us would work again…..meal's," Monaghan wrote in the caption, reflecting on the joyous reunion.
Monaghan appeared alongside Wood, Boyd and Bloom in LOTR as hobbits Merry, Frodo and Pippin, and elf Legolas in the original film franchise, which ran from 2001 to 2003. The cast also featured in The Hobbit prequel trilogy, which were released in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
