‘Paint the town red:’ Fans can show pride in Chiefs Kingdom at special NFL Draft events

The Kansas City Chiefs’ presence will be felt at the NFL Draft.

The reigning and defending Super Bowl champions have the last pick in the first round of the draft on Thursday and plenty of other picks to follow throughout the draft, but that’s not all the Chiefs have in store.

At the NFL Draft Experience, the Chiefs invite visitors to explore the city’s rich football culture.

The Chiefs Kingdom Experience is designed for fans to immerse themselves in special gameday moments, just like the moments the players go through every home game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

The experience is on the South Lawn of the National WWI Museum and Memorial all three days and includes:

  • Tunnel Run-Out: Fans can run out of a tunnel with 142.2 decibels roaring to enter the experience, just like the Chiefs do on gamedays.

  • Chiefs Bus: The Chiefs have a custom double-decker bus that will debut at the experience.

  • Giveaways: While supplies last, fans can get a custom “tailgate-scented” air freshener reminding Chiefs Kingdom of the charcoal smells of Arrowhead parking lots.

  • Photo opportunities: Fans can snap a picture with Chiefs cheerleaders and KC Wolf throughout the weekend.

  • Stake Your Claim to the Kingdom: Visitors can have their picture taken and then stick the photo to a wall map showing where Chiefs and NFL fans have traveled from.

  • Kingdom Pillars: Read about the legacy of Lamar Hunt, the American Football League, plus the Chiefs’ rituals, traditions and Super Bowl wins. Fans can also see how they measure against players like Travis Kelce, Chris Jones and Isiah Pacheco.

  • Gameday festivities: Chiefs cheerleaders, the Rumble drumline and KC Wolf are all scheduled for performances and appearances at the Chiefs Kingdom Experience throughout the three days of the NFL Draft.

Fans can also see every Super Bowl trophy and ring, including the three won by the Chiefs.

And, Chiefs players Isiah Pacheco, Trent McDuffie, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Trey Smith, as well as former Chiefs Chad Henne, Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe will be there to meet fans and sign autographs.

You can find where these activities are located using this interactive map.

You must register for the NFL Draft using the NFL OnePass app, where you can also see the player autograph sessions underneath the “schedule” tab. You can learn how to get your free ticket here.

Chiefs owner Clark Hunt also asks Chiefs fans to wear red during the draft’s three days.

“This year, we’re inviting KC to paint the town red to show all of our visitors what Chiefs Kingdom is all about,” Hunt said in a video. “So put on that Chiefs gear and fly those Chiefs flags as we welcome hundreds of thousands of NFL fans to our kingdom.”

If the draft isn’t your thing, there’s a Chiefs fan draft party from 4-11 p.m. at Harrah’s Kansas City on Saturday. Former Chiefs players Neil Smith and Christian Okoye will be there to celebrate with fans.

Tickets to this event start at $50. The first 500 ticket buyers will also receive an autograph from Smith.
