Parul Agrawal Named Head of Drama at Warner Bros. Television

Parul Agrawal has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Head of Drama Development at Warner Bros. Television, TheWrap has confirmed. The announcement of her promotion comes a day after the group’s latest round of layoffs.

Agrawal will be replacing Leigh London Redman, who left in July to become President of Berlanti Productions.

Agrawal, who was a longtime drama executive at Warner Bros., will report to Clancy Collins White, Executive Vice President and Head of Development. She will spearhead the creation the studio’s drama series, limited series and movies for Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO Max, external streaming services, cable and broadcast networks. She will also oversee the drama development team.

Prior to joining Warner Bros. Television, Agrawal worked in development at Brancato/Salke Productions, the former production company of producers Chris Brancato and Bert Salke. She also worked with “The L Word” creator Ilene Chaiken on the show’s final season.

A veteran executive, Agrawal rose through the studio’s ranks since joining in 2010. She has worked on numerous series, including HBO’s “Lovecraft County,” HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl” and “Pretty Little Liars” reboots, and the upcoming “The Girls on the Bus.” She also worked on “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Maid” for Netflix,” “Riverdale” and “Supergirl” for the CW and “Castle Rock” for Hulu, among others.

She has worked closely with producers and production companies like Alloy Entertainment, Bad Robot Productions, Berlanti Productions, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Elizabeth Banks, Ava DuVernay, Mindy Kaling, Bill Lawrence and Nkechi Okoro Carroll under deals at the studio.

Agrawal began her TV career as the script coordinator on AMC’s “Mad Men.”
