Passenger dies, driver to be charged for allegedly being impaired, in west Windsor crash
Windsor police say a 19-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly driving impaired causing death after a crash on the city's west side.
It happened on Cameron Avenue, north of University Avenue, just before midnight Wednesday, according to authorities.
Officers responded to reports of a vehicle heading northbound at a "high rate of speed before losing control, hitting a tree and striking a parked car," police said in a statement.
A passenger in the vehicle — a 21-year-old man — was taken to hospital and pronounced dead, police say.
The driver sustained what police are calling "serious injuries."
Authorities say she'll be charged with "dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death" and "impaired operation of a conveyance causing death."
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has video footage of it to contact them.
