Peace Region cowboys shine at Grande Prairie Stompede

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Two cowboys who hail from the Peace region stood out from the competition during the Grande Prairie Stompede held from May 29th to June 2nd in Alberta.

Clayton Moore of Pouce Coupe and Chetwynd’s Chase Siemens will also bring home prize money as a result of their performances.

Moore took third place in the weekend’s steer wrestling competition, an event that involves taking cattle to the ground.

He finished with a time of 3.9 seconds and earned $2,256 for his efforts.

Siemens did well in Novice bareback riding, where cowboys attempt to ride a bronco for eight seconds without using two hands to ride.

Siemens scored 79 points and collected $434 in prize money, ahead of second place Jace Lomheim.
