Pedestrian struck, killed in Natomas vehicle collision. Sacramento police investigating

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle along a South Natomas roadway on Wednesday, according to Sacramento police.

Officers were called about 7 p.m. to the 1400 block of Garden Highway. Once on scene, officers and Sacramento Fire Department personnel rendered aid to the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a spokesman with the Police Department.

The identity of the victim is expected to be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next-of-kin is notified.

The driver remained at the scene when officers arrived, Gamble said, and drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing and the cause of the crash remains undetermined.
