Pensioner Sues Apple After Honeymoon Photos Are Wiped During iPhone Repair
An OAP is suing Apple after his honeymoon photos were allegedly wiped by staff at a London store.
Deric White, 68, says he lost years’ worth of treasured pictures after taking his iPhone 5 into the tech giant’s Regent Street store for a repair.
Mr White, from Pimlico, south London, said he had taken the device in after receiving a text message saying there was a fault.
He alleges that when staff returned the phone saying it was “sorted” all the data – including pictures and contacts – had been wiped.
He said: “It was only after staff fiddled around they asked if I’d backed my things up.”
Mr White will face Apple in court today to try to claim £5,000 for the loss – enough to pay for another honeymoon.
“My life was saved on that phone. I lost my favourite video of a giant tortoise biting my hand on honeymoon in the Seychelles,” he said
