The severe storms prompted tornado warnings for the Windsor and Simcoe regions. While a funnel cloud was sighted in Port Stanley, nothing has been confirmed. Damage reports surfaced on social media shortly after the storms exited the regions with visuals of downed trees and power lines as the storms that powered through were capable of bringing intense winds.

As a result of the damage, thousands are currently without power in southwestern Ontario, according to Hydro One.

That was the first round. A second round is expected late Wednesday evening and overnight.

The late-day threat may include a squall line with damaging winds, large hail, and one or two tornadoes, all of which are possible in southwestern regions of the province. People will need to be weather-aware and heed all warnings.

Once the storms started pushing into southwestern Ontario Wednesday, it didn't take long for the visuals to appear on social media. Here is a selection of what is currently making the rounds.
