Armistice Day 2014: Sombre silence remembers the fallen 100 years on from World War One

Poignant services were held today at the Tower of London, along with Trafalgar Square in the capital and at the National Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire. There were more commemorations further afield, including at Ypres on the former Western Front in Belgium, to remember the millions of British servicemen and women lost in conflicts.
