Brave souls in Canada and across the world donned fancy dress (or just their swimsuits) to hop in the water for a chilly swim to welcome the new year. Polar bear dips in Oakville, Ont., English Bay, B.C., Germany, France and England saw dozens come out to frollic in the freezing water, and all appeared to enjoy themselves, despite the temperatures.
