Tiny home in British Columbia: Project Little Freedom House

With her own two hands, 30-year-old landscaper Kayla Feenstra has built her 130 sq. ft. home in Abbotsford, B.C. When her offer on another home fell through as too costly, Feenstra opted to build her own "Jack in the Box" for $15,000, a fraction of the price of the mortgage she had considered, deciding she didn't need much space, only a place to call home. Construction took two months and the home sits upon a trailer bed, making it portable. The house has an 80 sq. ft loft style bedroom, a kitchen, a complete bathroom, solar panels on the roof to power her petite pad, which she outfitted with a fridge, stove, and low-voltage LED lights. Feenstra also added electric wiring so that she has the option of hooking up her miniature mansion to a house or RV park for power. She lives with her 100 lb. dog, Scotch, and her cat named Jinx.
