Placer County car chase ends in Penryn Road crash. Suspect pronounced dead at scene
A suspect died in a car crash after a chase with Placer County Sheriff’s deputies Sunday morning.
Just after 2 a.m., deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop for a car on Penryn Road, just off Interstate 80, near a 76 gas station, according to a tweet from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. The motorist drove away from deputies and a pursuit began.
Deputies said the suspect crashed near Penryn Estates Drive, roughly a mile north of the gas station. The driver, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as a male adult, was pronounced dead at the scene.
UPDATE: Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Penryn Rd near the 76 gas station, which turned into a pursuit. The suspect driver, a male adult, crashed near Penryn Estates Dr and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Penryn Road between Taylor Road and Interstate 80 was closed for investigation for several hours, deputies said.
Angela Musallam, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office, said no further information was available Sunday morning.
