Toronto police say they have arrested a second young person in the stabbing of a man at a TTC subway station earlier this month.

The stabbing on Feb. 15 at Wilson station left a 52-year-old man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police were called to the scene at about 5:30 p.m.

The first suspect, a 14-year-old girl, was arrested by police officers at the scene. She has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Police said they arrested the second suspect, a 17-year-old boy, on Thursday. He has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and assault. He was due to appear in a Toronto courtroom on Thursday morning.

According to police, the victim was exiting the subway when he became involved in an altercation with a teen girl and her male companion on the subway platform. The man was allegedly assaulted and stabbed.

Police have said the victims and suspects did not know each other. The male suspect fled the station, police said.

The names of the suspects cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
